Plain and Stone-Set Stud Earrings

Diamond stud earrings first appeared in the late 19th century, and since their popularity surged in the 1970s they have remained a fashion staple. A stud can be worn as one of a pair or on its own, by men as well as women.
Our studs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from small round balls to more substantial hearts, stars and flowers. Some are plain metal, and others are set with cubic zirconia, diamond, pearl, crystal or coloured stones such as sapphire and blue topaz.
The stone-set studs include claw settings, where narrow strips of metal bend over the edge of the stone and leave most of it open to the light, and rubover settings, where the metal is worked over the stone to hold it. Metals include sterling silver, stainless steel, and both gold and gold-plated pieces.
