Garnet is named after the Latin for pomegranate: a cluster of garnets looks like the fruit's seeds.
Garnet has been worn for more than 5,000 years, from bead necklaces in ancient Egypt to Victorian jewellery, where it was often set in just that kind of cluster. As the birthstone for January, it is also a fitting gift for a birthday at the start of the year.
The collection includes rings, earrings and pendants, some set with a single garnet and others pairing it with cubic zirconia, in metals including solid gold and sterling silver.
