Carathea and Jools is a family-run, contemporary jewellers located on the High Street in Bridgwater, Somerset, with a full collection also available online.

Our shop, Jools (sketched by my daughter above!), offers a beautiful selection of silver, gold, and gem-set jewellery. We also provide convenient services, including while-you-wait watch battery replacements and expert watch and jewellery repairs. We are proud to stock a wonderful range of brands, including Clogau Gold, Coeur de Lion, Diamonfire, and Chlobo, alongside watches from designers like Festina, Bering, Sekonda, and Storm London.

We are passionate about offering our customers beautiful, high-quality jewellery at affordable prices. Whether you visit us in-store or online, our aim is to provide genuine advice and an honest service that makes your experience with us a positive one.

Nothing makes us happier than knowing you are just as delighted with your purchase months and years later as you were on the day you bought it. We deeply value the relationships we build with our returning customers—it’s truly the best part of our job.

Denise gained decades of experience in retail long before opening her own business, having worked for her parents in their various family ventures. From ladies' fashion and furniture to a pet shop and jewellers, she learned the trade by helping wherever she was needed.

In her thirties, with a young family to support, Denise took the leap and opened her own shop when her three children were just nine, six, and three years old. Juggling the business throughout their school years was demanding but rewarding, and often meant the children came to work with her, armed with toys and craft supplies!

Today, her children are all grown up and share her strong work ethic. In fact, all three, along with her partner, have contributed to the business over the years—both in the shop and on the website. Denise is incredibly grateful for their unwavering love, support, and encouragement, which remains the foundation of the business.

We look forward to serving the Bridgwater community for many years to come, continuing to build lasting relationships with our customers, both in-store and online.
