Sterling Silver Necklaces, Pendants and Chains
Our sterling silver necklaces include pendants sold alone, for a chain you already own.
Sterling silver is 92.5% silver, and the number 925 you may see marked on it stands for that. The rest is usually copper, added because pure silver on its own is soft and scratches easily. Like any silver, it can darken as sulphur in the air reacts with the surface, so it is worth keeping a necklace in a sealed plastic bag when you are not wearing it.
Many of the pendants come with a chain, and there are chains sold by themselves as well. Designs include hearts, crosses, lockets and St Christopher pendants. A lot of them are set with stones, most often cubic zirconia, with others such as pearl, white topaz, blue topaz and amethyst. Some pair the silver with rose gold detail.
