A paperclip chain looks much as the name suggests, with long, open links shaped like the clip on your desk.
It is essentially a cable chain with each link stretched out, giving it an elongated rectangular shape with rounded ends. Worn alone, it has a clean, sophisticated look, and when layered, its open links keep the other necklaces on display.
The collection includes necklaces, bracelets and anklets, and a few combine paperclip links with curb or Figaro links. Some close with a T-bar, where a short bar passes through a ring and turns to sit across it, which tends to be easier to fasten with one hand. Metals include sterling silver, gold plate over silver, solid gold and stainless steel.
