A tennis bracelet is a linked bracelet with each link holding a diamond (or any other gemstone), forming a continuous, flexible band of gemstones. Chris Evert, a famous US Tennis player, who was a very stylish lady, inadvertently gave this style of bracelet its name.

In 1978 the famous tennis player, Chris Evert, was wearing her diamond bracelet in the US Open. The catch on the bracelet broke whilst playing and her bracelet fell from her wrist. She stopped play to look for it and later mentioned in an interview that it was her "tennis bracelet".

A huge volume of requests for a "tennis bracelet" to jewellers around the world meant the name stuck!
