Citrine Gemstone

The beautiful Citrine, who's name originates from the word "citrus" due to its colour..

Citrine is a form of pale, translucent yellow quartz - ranging in colour from a light-yellow, brown-yellow to a red-yellow depending on the amount of iron present within the quartz. It is sometimes yellow with an orange tinge. It sometimes resembles pale smoky quartz.

Amethyst is a purple form of quartz.  The light-yellow citrine is quite rare and much of citrine seen today in jewellers is actually heat-treated amethyst.
