Understanding Water Resistance
-
Water resistance relates to the pressure of water against the watch while static at the depth specified.
-
Moving the watch quickly through water increases the pressure, so a 30M watch may not resist tap spray or swimming.
-
Watches without water-resistant markings should be protected from moisture, steam, and condensation.
-
Avoid wearing water-resistant watches in showers, baths, or high-temperature/steam environments.
-
Water resistance is not permanent; gaskets deteriorate over time.
-
We recommend having your watch re-sealed and tested annually or whenever the case is opened for servicing.
Caring for Your Water-Resistant Watch
-
Rinse after exposure: After swimming in salt or chlorinated water, rinse the watch with clean water and dry thoroughly.
-
Avoid chemicals: Perfumes, cleaning sprays, and cosmetics can damage gaskets or finishes.
-
Check the crown: Ensure the crown and pushers are securely closed before any water contact.
-
Regular maintenance: Have a professional check seals during servicing or battery replacement.
