Sublime Lariat Necklaces
“Lariat” is a word that means a rope that had a loop on one end, that was used to catch or tie up horses. It is taken from the Spanish word, “re-ata” from ‘back’ (re) and atar ‘to tie up’. The “noose” part of the rope was meant to stay open as it was thrown over the animal.
In a similar way, a lariat necklace has a loop, going over the neck with a length of chain which hangs down. These necklaces look beautiful when worn and are very flattering.
